For some people, BIM (Building Information Modelling) is only 3D planning, others see BIM as a fancy new trend in the construction industry and yet others may not fully understand what BIM is. According to the National Interagency Fire Center, more than 2.2 million acres already have burned in the U.S. this year. That is about 500,000 more acres than this time in 2020, when a total of 10.1 million acres burned. This devastating loss makes it imperative that disaster resiliency be on the forefront of the recovery efforts.

The Ventilation 2021 Conference takes place Aug. 15-18, 2021 at the Sheraton City Centre in downtown Toronto. Inaugurated in 1985, the "Industrial Ventilation Conference" takes place every three years allowing time to develop new research and technology applications and to document the findings. The conference has rotated locations and organizers between Europe, North America and Southeast Asia. The 2021 conference will be hosted by ASHRAE.

The proposed conference theme is “leading edge industrial ventilation technologies for a low-carbon environment.” The program will include and call for papers and separate call for presentations. More information to come regarding the Call for Papers and other important deadlines.

The goal of the conference is for international engineers, practitioners, researchers, scientists, and regulatory personnel working in the specialized industrial ventilation field to share recent advancements from a global perspective in the field of ventilation and contaminant control.

The Design-Build Institute of America will gather the nation’s leading federal sector design-builders in a one-of-a-kind opportunity for industry and Owners, to learn together and network.
