FAQ

To renew, you will:

  1. Log in to your account with the profile icon in the upper right hand of the page.
  2. Select your Organization/Company Profile when prompted. Do not select your individual profile, if you are looking to renew your organizational/Unlimited membership.

To see your organization profile, you must be listed as a primary contact. If you need to update your primary contacts, email jdewitt@nibs.org.

  1. Click on the bell icon, then select Outstanding Balances (Note: Do not select Renew Org Membership).
  2. If paying by credit card, select the box with the invoice number (Note: If paying by check/ACH, select View next to the invoice number and you will be able to print the invoice to submit along with payment).
  3. If paying by credit card, select Pay.
  4. Submit your credit card information, then select Checkout.

To renew by check, you will need to:

  1. Log in to your account with the profile icon in the upper right hand of the page.
  2. Select your Organization's profile when prompted.
  3. Click on the bell icon, then select Outstanding Balances (Note: Do not select Renew Org Membership).
  4. Select View next to the invoice number and you will be able to print the invoice to submit along with payment.
    • When submitting payment, include the Invoice number and submit to the address below.
    • Payment address: 1090 Vermont Avenue, NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005

  1. Log in to your account with the profile icon in the upper right hand of the page.
  2. Select your Organization/Company Profile when prompted. Do not select your individual profile. Select the Organization's profile.
  3. Select Manage Org contacts.
  4. Click the blue icon on the right of the screen that reads “Add contact” when your mouse is placed over it.
  5. To remove a contact, once you select a name, you can enter today's date into the "End Date" field and update.

After you add the contact, the individual should receive a confirmation email that will give them their password information to access their profile.

To make additional updates to your individual and/or organization profile*, please log in here with your username and password and select “My Profile.”

Membership dues are non-refundable.

NIBS operates eight volunteer bodies, including one workgroup and seven councils. It’s through the work of our councils and committees that we’re able to identify and resolve problems and potential issues that stand in the way of safe, affordable, and sustainable structures for the built environment. Each council retains a special focus and is governed by a voluntary board with nationally recognized leaders in appropriate disciplines. Our councils include:

  • Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council
  • Building Information Management Council
  • Building Seismic Safety Council
  • Consultative Council
  • Facility Management and Operations Council
  • Multi-Hazard Mitigation Council
  • Off-Site Construction Council

If you are interested in joining at the individual level, you can join via this link. Once there, please create a profile/account. Once created, your account allows you to set up your membership.

Once logged in, please hover over the avatar in the top right corner, and select “Purchase Individual Membership” and follow through payment. Once completed, please update your “My Profile” information.

You will see in the membership portal that you can only sign yourself up with an individual membership and not an organization membership. If you are interested in joining at organizational level, please email jdewitt@nibs.org with your inquiry. We will set up your account on the backend of the membership portal.

NIBS membership terms are on an anniversary cycle, so you will renew on the anniversary of your join date. Your membership period is for one year.

Yes. Organization memberships include the right for organizations to add new and replacement staff to the extent allowed by their membership purchase. Please login to your organization profile, to add/remove individuals.
