Kevin E. Hadden, PE, PMP, is the Director of the Whole Building Design Guide with the National Institute of Building Sciences.

Kevin has extensive leadership experience in infrastructure and facilities design, construction, and operations management. His passion lies in strengthening the efficiency, safety, and effectiveness of the built environment serving the American people.

Prior to joining NIBS, Kevin served as a Program Manager at Eli Lilly. He managed the planning, procurement, and construction of all infrastructure coming into the largest API manufacturing plant ever built in the US. He most recently managed the construction of the Small Molecule Manufacturing Plant for the Lebanon API Campus; an over $1 billion project where he owned management responsibility for all cost, schedule, design, risk, staffing, safety, and procurement. Prior to Lilly, Kevin served as an active-duty US Army Engineer Officer. He led construction projects across the Pacific and then became a Dive Team Commander where he led a team that conducted underwater surveys, construction, and demolition. Over his career, Kevin has focused on building strong partnerships with USACE, NAVFAC, US Coast Guard, USSOCOM, and industry leaders to solve complex problems and create positive outcomes.

Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Engineering Management from Missouri Science and Technology.
