Ivan Rupnik is a Founding Partner of MOD X and Professor at Northeastern University. He co-leads the NIBS committee developing a housing system certification program that treats homes as complete systems or products, providing a scalable tool for increasing the supply, affordability, and resilience of U.S. housing. Rupnik, along with his partners at MOD X, co-led work with NIBS for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on a federal Research Roadmap, an Action Plan for accelerating offsite housing, and a Regional Action Plan framework that local partners in six states are using to accelerate housing delivery. His doctoral research at Harvard University examined the development of industrialized housing delivery, focusing on both design and project management innovations and the policy actions that enable them. At Building Innovation, Rupnik will moderate two panels on housing system certification: one on the overall concept and a second on early adoption in Washington State.
