"Meghan Walsh, AIA, LEED AP, is a licensed architect and subject matter expert in buildings, energy, environmental justice, housing, and resilience as they intersect with real estate finance and public policy. With experience holding academic positions at the University of Michigan, Catholic University, Howard University, and Auburn University, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as a board member. She founded Axis Mundi, a 501c3 educational, design-build nonprofit organization working in Washington, DC, and Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. She has published papers on architecture, building performance, and housing affordability in her private practice. She holds degrees in Fine Arts, Architecture, and Real Estate Finance from the University of Massachusetts, the University of Michigan, and Georgetown University, respectively, and a Public Policy certificate from the University of Pennsylvania - Penn Wharton Budget Model. Meghan currently works for a federal government agency, serving on myriad interagency groups focused on improving the quality of rural housing, communities, and infrastructure. However, she serves on this board in her personal capacity, and her participation is not connected to her government role." She is also an award-winning, internationally recognized mosaic artist who works in stone, glass, and repurposed materials. She has exhibited her work, taught courses, and participated in global residencies in Ireland, Italy, Sardinia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Argentina, Brazil, and Turkey.
