The Building Enclosure Science & Technology (BEST6) Conference is just a month away – March 18-20, at the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol!

Room discounts for our hotel block conclude Friday, February 23.

The BEST6 theme is "The Next Generation of Building Technology," focusing on the impact of climate change on building enclosures, new techniques in building design and construction, durability, and sustainability.

The 2024 agenda will integrate technical sessions around two tracks: building science and building practice. Schedule highlights include:

  • Keynote Sam Rashkin, author of Housing 2.0: A Disruption.
  • Building science sessions around decarbonization, retrofitting, household energy audit tools, cool roofs and walls, user-friendly reflective insulation, low carbon building materials, and resilience.
  • Building practice sessions around roof insulation and condensation, air barriers and ventilation, thermo-active building technology, climate-positive building enclosures, and building envelope challenges.

Once the technical conference wraps on March 20, attendees are invited to four-hour interactive workshop, “How Do We Strengthen Building Science Education Across Disciplines?” The workshop will examine the traditional avenues of university degree programs as well as alternative solutions.

BEST6 would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, Tremco Construction Products Group; Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Salas O'Brien; Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc.; International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants; AIA Austin Building Enclosures Council; York Flashings; Terracon; and AABC Commissioning Group. Thank you.
