Dominique “Dom” Gowens is a Security Engineer at the National Institute of Building Sciences, with over 12 years of hands-on experience in systems administration, engineering, cloud and workplace technologies. At NIBS, Dom leads efforts to strengthen the organization’s security posture across Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS, with a focus on CMMC Level 2 readiness, identity and access management, endpoint protection, and certificate lifecycle management. He partners closely with IT leadership and stakeholders to develop practical security standards, streamline incident response, and implement scalable controls that protect users, data, and mission-critical services.
Prior to joining NIBS, Dom served as a Cloud Systems Engineer at Michael Baker International, where he supported Microsoft 365 and Azure administration, hybrid and cloud email services, and endpoint management.
