Joel Cline

Joel has worked in Meteorologist for over 35 years as a NWS, DOE and now NIST employee. The NWS career covers the National Hurricane Center as a lead forecaster, Weather Forecast Office in Raleigh, Pacific Regional Headquarters over all forecast products, Olympic forecaster 2002, NOAA headquarters and NWS headquarters as Tropical Program Coordinator. The DOE years were working with the Wind Energy Technologies including modeling, data collection and large field projects to more efficiently and effectively design wind plants to maximize power. At NIST he works with multiple federal agencies to plan and research ways to make communities more resilient to windstorms.
